Za’atar Roasted Almonds


         A brilliant gift for the health-conscious foodie in your life, these almonds are full of flavour and the za’atar gives them a great Middle Eastern flavour. They are also really quick to prepare so they are perfect if you receive a last minute invite and need a gift to take. I like to present these in a little clear bags tied with ribbon but they look just as good in a jar or a box.

Za’atar Roasted Almonds


  • 2 cups of whole almonds
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of za’atar


  • Pre-heat the oven to 170 degrees and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  • In a bowl whisk the egg whites until they look foamy.
  • Stir in the almonds, salt and za’atar and mix to ensure that almonds are well coated.
  • Spread the coated almonds out over the baking tray and bake for 20-30 minutes until dry.

They smell amazing at this point, but remember they are a gift, so no nibbling them!
