If you struggle to get your 5 a day, a smoothie is a great way to pack some nutrients into you. You can use so many different fruits and vegetables in them that the choices are almost endless. But this is a great choice that is packed with superfoods. I use a Nutri-bullet to make my smoothies and I adore it, but you can use any blender you have, including a hand blender if that’s all you have available.
Superfood Green Smoothie
- 1 cup of frozen spinach
- 1/2 cup of blueberries
- 1 small pear
- 1/2 an apple
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
- 1 cucumber
- 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed
- 1 1/2 cups of coconut water
- Chop the apple, pear and cucumber into smaller chunks. Place all the ingredients into the blender and whizz until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
