On January 9, 2007 the late Steve Jobs introduced the Game changer among the Smartphones. At the keynote he said he would be introducing a wide-screen iPod with touch controls, a revolutionary mobile phone , and a breakthrough internet device. But it wasn’t three products. It was one product. It was the iPhone.
7 years later, the Apple iPhone became a dominant player in the smartphone industry, with the latest devices Apple iPhone 5s and Apple iPhone 5c. Personally, I’d love to have an iPhone, but something stops me from buying is the 4 inch screen it carries, where I’m using a 4.9 inch phone.Going from a massive screen size to a lower one doesn’t appeal me. While Android smartphone have hit a screen size of more than 6 inch, it is the right time for Apple to experiment with screen sizes.
But, Did you hear the latest rumor? Apple is considering larger screens for the next iPhones, the iPhone 6. It’d make sense in a big way, as people like me would definitely consider buying a larger iPhone than the 4 inch iPhone 5S or iPhone 5. That doesn’t mean that it is necessarily true, but according to Wall Street Journal Apple is going to introduce to iPhone models of screen size between 4.5 to 5 inch. What makes the rumor more interesting is the possibility that Apple might abandon the poly carbonate casing of the iPhone 5c in favor of the high end metal casing.
September is still months away, lets see what Apple is cooking up until then.
